Sunrise Foundation International Diabetes project 2018. Sunrise foundation members and volunteers including Ambassador and Miss sunrise foundation Ana Zens have visited Nigeria with Diabetes project.
AC Matilda CEO and founder of Sunrise foundation would like to thank you all those who supported the Sunrise Foundation International Diabetes project 2018 and helped to collect 7 luggages of medicine which they were privileged to pass for free to hospitals in Africa who treats underprivileged families for free.
Matilda AC says : “We donated the medication and equipment that was given to us to two hospital in Nigeria. The first donation went to St Joseph’s Hospital in Ijebu.. because two years ago the Sunrise Foundation International Diabetes project Team took some Irish Doctors and volunteers to this hospital for free awareness and screening on diabetes. After the project, one of the Irish doctor donated a brand new ultrasound scans to this hospital. All thanks to Sunrise Foundation International Diabetes project in Africa. We went to see if this was helping the people in that community. Yes it is helping them and the hospital. This hospital is run and manage by the Diocese of Ijebu. This Diocese is one of our official partner and we will continue to support them. The hospital is still in need of medical equipment and if any of you is interested in donating something to them, it must not be new but in good working conditions, please contact me. “

Sunrise foundation members and volunteers have visited the Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria Lagos and the Ecowas refugees camp Oru in Ogun state It was an emotional week. They met Refugees from Sierra Leone, Liberia, Congo and Cameroon. Refugees living in a camp with no electricity; no food; no water, but with strong believe in brighter future. Despite all these people are very appreciative of the little you give them. Even in bad conditions, refugees try to keep themselve tidy and clean.
The chief of the land said “God bless the Sunrise Foundation International for their great work and service to humanity. ” And you can help even by giving your time for searching help to them.
“In addition to awareness and screening on diabetes and Hypertension, this time we did an empowerment seminar in order to get them ready to work and use the skills they have to be able to help themselves and put food on their table. These people need our help. ” says AC Matilda.
With same mission Sunrise foundation members were invited to the Christ the king catholic college . It was an amazing time with approximately 550 student talking about diabetes. The students were very excited with what they learnt from the team member Ogbonna Gideon.

Chief Idasa for helping out with invitation letter for visa and our trip to the refugee camps. A special thanks to Team Sunrise foundation for working very hard through out their time in Nigeria.
