Berlin, 15th January 2019 – “Meet you at the train station“ – this motto perfectly mirrored the urban station atmosphere at the Marc Cain Fashion Show in Berlin. People heading for different destinations meet here. These various situations are in line with the varying looks shown in the Marc Cain collections.
The train station is a vibrant place of chance meetings and is a starting point for any trip. Various types of women show off different fashion styles, whether they are elegant business looks for the office, sporty outfits for a skiing holiday, streetwear looks for the city or sophisticated evening wear for theatre visits.
The staging of the Fashion Show depicted the train station in a modern, abstract way. The dominating colours were black and white complemented by accents of rust red. The backdrop of the catwalk was formed by an impressive, stylised train, from which the models exited and stepped onto the runway.
Next to the train, further cut-out motifs including a station clock, lantern and piles of luggage, as well as other ornaments modified for Marc Cain, contributed to the urban atmosphere. “The staging of the station theme wonderfully reflects the different influences in the Marc Cain Collections and Sports looks. Knit plays an essential role as this is the main theme and part of Marc Cain’s DNA,“ stated Katja Konradi, Managing Director Design & Brand.
The Fall/Winter 2019 collections are determined by intensive statements of colour and contrasts. Accents are set by fluorescent neon tones appearing as flashes of light, especially in combination with neutral winter pastels or nuances of beige. Streetwear guarantees Zeitgeist. The break between wool knit and polished surfaces comes across as very cool, yet casual.
Tailored suits are key; black & white looks grab attention. Wool plays a decisive role in elegant dresses for evening wear and is perfect for layering. Various animal prints such as zebra and leopard together with check create tension and ensure exciting outfit combinations.
The Front Row was filled with top class personalities, for example the US actress Sarah Rafferty, Yvonne Catterfeld, Hannah Herzsprung, Joy Denalane, Esther Schweins and influencers including Caro Daur and Leonie Hanne. The runway glittered with a beautiful array of models such as supermodel Lorena Rae. Further well-known models such as Sam Goldberg and Eveline Hall took to the catwalk for Marc Cain.
During the Fashion Week, the model “True Bag“ was exclusively sold online in a See-Now-Buy-Now campaign lasting 48 hours. The bag is available in three colours (aubergine, almond and black) and made from 100% calf leather; it is “Made in Italy“.
Marc Cain is official Fashion Week Partner of the Fashion Council Germany.
