Do you know some surfing girl? We would like to introduce to you one of them… her name is Tia Blanco and she is very beautiful.
At just 18 years old, Tia Blanco has become one of the most talked about amateurs in women’s surfing. Winning both the 2014 NSSA Southwest Women’s 18u and Surfing Prime America Women’s 18u seasons, Tia surfs with power and style.
As a member of the USA Team Tia took 3rd overall in the 2014 World Juniors. In 2015 she was the ISA World Games Gold Medalist and the ISA World Jr. Games Silver Medalist. She is currently on her first year of focusing solely on qualifying for the World Tour. She got a second in her first WQS contest, The Shoe City Pro. Also an outspoken vegan athlete,
Tia has become an ambassador for PETA2 and is frequently featured in vegan/vegetarian/health media as a role model and athlete. She was voted by the OC Register as the 2014 Rising Star Surfer of the Year and was placed #18 on the Surfer Magazine Hot 100 for 2014 and #12 in 2015. In 2014 she won a PETA “Libby” Award for her service and was voted runner up in the 2015 PETA “World’s Hottest Veg Celeb.”
Tia will be competing in the US Open of Surfing and trying to qualify for the world tour in the coming year by competing in the World Surfing League WQS series. She will continue to compete on the USA Team and should surfing get into the Olympics she is a hopeful for the USA squad. She will also be traveling and filming for her sponsors Reef and Raen.
In 2015, Tia has a VEGAN capsule jewelry collection she designed with Paris-based company Satine Creation that is currently out. Partial proceeds from sales will benefit PETA. Tia was also one of two girls chosen to represent TEAM USA for the World Surfing Games held in Nicaragua in June where she won GOLD.
Tia is also the runner up silver medalist for the ISA World Jr. Surfing Games for 2015. In 2016 she will continue to surf for Team USA. Tia will also be shooting a documentary being produced by James Cameron (Avatar, Titanic) and directed by Academy Awards winning director Louie Psihoyos (The Cove, Racing Extinction).
